Gang crime is in focus in the debate of the leader of the Riksdag party. The accusations are many and the words are harsh against Löfven.

– When the government is part of the problem, the government must be replaced, says moderate leader Ulf Kristersson and continues:

– Stefan Löfven and his government don’t even want to acknowledge the connection between high immigration, poor integration and increased crime.

SD leader Jimmie Åkesson is also attacking Löfven and the government. He calls it “horrible” that nothing else is being done to combat gang crime.

– The killers are still in youth homes, the gangs continue to recruit young people and since Stefan Löfven took office, the number of cases of deadly violence in criminal conflicts has increased considerably, says Åkesson.

Löfven opened the debate on a different tone with the call for Sweden to join forces against crime, as did the crown society against the pandemic.

– We have been able to gather forces, we help each other, we defend ourselves, we make joint sacrifices. Let us also include it in the work to establish safety in streets and squares, says Löfven.

Then Löfven listed everything the government has done since the 2014 elections, how the police have been strengthened and sanctions increased.

– But we are not finished, because the problem persists. The police are clear that they alone can never stop the gangs. The police are right, the whole of society must gain strength, says Löfven.

Wants to overthrow the government

Christian Democratic leader Ebba Busch is also harshly critical of the government, accusing it of not doing enough against violence and shootings. Busch urges members of parliament to act against Löfven.

– What is your excuse for not removing this government? He says.

According to Busch, the government is doing very little because he and the coalition parties, the Center Party and the Liberals, are divided.

The leader of L’s group in the Riksdag, Johan Pehrson, called for initiatives on a broad front on migration, integration and legal policy.

“You need a financial start-up”

The center’s leader, Annie Lööf, focuses on the need for a new economic start in Sweden. He also mentions crime and emphasizes that the state’s most basic task of ensuring security must be restored.
