Handels and Svensk Handel agree on new salaries

The conflict between the LO Handels union and the Svensk Handel employer party has been over wage increases and investments in low-wage groups.

– There will be slightly higher minimum wages and it is a real investment in our low wages, said contract secretary Per Bardh at a press conference.

In total, it will be 1,354 crowns. throughout the term of the deal, Handels writes in a press release.

According to Handels, the largest salary increase will be for those who earn the least and investing in those with the lowest salary means that those with a full-time salary of 25,000 kroner a month will receive a 0.5 percent higher salary increase. For an adult with no prior industry experience, this means a 5.5 percent salary increase, according to Handels.

An employee with no industry experience and currently on minimum wage (SEK 21,814 per month) can receive a 1.2 percent higher salary increase.

The new agreements apply from November 1 to March 31, 2023. The last year can be rescinded. Full-time employee salaries will be increased in two steps for a total of SEK 1,354 until March 31, 2022:

774 SEK as of November 1, 2020.

SEK 580 as of April 1, 2022.

The strike would have affected some 5,000 employees and began at 10 am tomorrow.
