Lewis Hamilton has taken another step towards the title as the greatest Formula 1 driver of all time, as he has now secured his seventh World Championship title – This is for all the kids who believe in the impossible. You can do it, he says.

Even before the race in Turkey, the Briton was the driver with the most partial victories of all time. He is now 94 years old.

With the victory in Istanbul, which meant victory in the overall championship, the 35-year-old is now also up in seven championship titles, as many as German legend Michael Schumacher.

– I’ve been dreaming about this since I was little. I remember watching Michael win these championships. Winning one, two or three is very difficult. Seven is inconceivable, says Hamilton.

– There is no end to what we can do together as a team. It feels like it’s just starting. Physically, I’m in fantastic shape, he says.

On the rain-soaked track in Istanbul, the Mercedes driver drove safely from sixth to first position and won by more than half a minute ahead of Sergio Perez, Racing Point. The victory was Hamilton’s seventh this year, in 14 races, and 94 of his career.

Valtteri Bottas drove in fourteenth place, Kimi Räikkönen was fifteenth.
