People in the five Swedish regions with particularly strict crown rules should really take the restrictions seriously, urges Social Affairs Minister Lena Hallengren (S).

Otherwise, even more difficult times await.

Sweden is moving towards darker times. So far, fall has meant a further spread of the coronavirus.

– I’m worried that things are going fast in various regions, says Lena Hallengren.

After Thursday, a total of five regions have particularly strict advice from the Swedish Public Health Agency. Among other things, residents of Scanian and Uplanders are urged to avoid public transport, for example, while residents of Stockholm, East Goth and West Goth, for example, should not look for shopping centers.

– This spring, many people saw the press conferences of the authorities and the government every day. Now is the time to drop it and move on. Not only about the global situation, but what is applied in your region so that you can help and take responsibility, says the Minister of Social Affairs.

Hallengren says nothing about the government’s new national measures, but notes that it is a tool that can be used.

– Hopefully everyone understands that you must follow the broad restrictions that municipalities entail. Otherwise, it is clear that it is possible to move forward and take additional measures.

TT: Is it relevant to reintroduce a national restraining order in nursing homes?

– Currently not relevant. Today we have a completely different preparation than what existed naturally at the beginning of the pandemic.

TT: Is it relevant for high school students to return to distance education?

– It is also not relevant today. I think one should be aware that shutting down the educational system in the way it meant has great negative consequences.
