On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Ann Linde (S) and Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will extend travel advice on unnecessary travel to all countries until July 15.
At the same time, changes were made to the recommendations for domestic travel: travel for one or two hours by car from the place of residence can be made under certain conditions. Stefan Löfven emphasized that great caution still applies on such trips.
The Minister of Social Affairs, Lena Hallengren (S), says in the Morning Study that this is a clarification of the recommendations and that many today are already doing this type of trip as a work trip.
“There is a new normal”
She emphasizes that the recommendations on keeping your distance and limiting your social contacts continue to apply.
– We say you should be careful with long trips, you should not go anywhere if you need care and attention and expect to get it somewhere else. It’s based on being able to manage yourself and not having to use wellness elsewhere, says Lena Hallengren.
Does this mean you are less worried today?
– No, certainly not. We are still concerned and this is a very serious situation. It is clear that we notice that people like to feel relief, they want to feel that they can at least begin to return to normal. I think it is important that we think that there is a new normality in the times of the crown.
According to Lena Hallengren, the Public Health Agency will return in early June regarding national travel for the summer.
