Gustafsson remains bandy base according to compromise solution

The annual meeting of the bandy association in Uppsala has been preceded by a bitter struggle for power with harsh words and accusations of undemocratic methods.

Before the annual meeting began on Saturday, union members were called to an informational meeting where a solution to the conflict was presented. It was proposed that Per-Anders Gustafsson remain in the position of Chairman, while Jesper Kärrbrink will return to the board as Vice Chairman, where he will be responsible for market issues. This was something that the TTELA newspaper reported last Friday.

The annual meeting, where the vote around the board positions to be implemented, begins at 1:00 p.m.

On the Bandypuls site, Per-Anders Gustafsson says he evaluates the prospects of the proposal being voted “very good.”

Jesper Kärrbrink was the nominating committee’s nominee as chair. In a popular letter to those who have the right to vote this summer, Per-Anders Gustafsson, who was elected president last year, was accused of behaving in an aggressive and sexist manner and of regularly insulting the people around him.

– We are not talking about one, two or three cases. We have received testimonials from many more. There are people who feel that they have been raped and we must take this seriously. In my opinion, it’s too many times for me to have confidence in the acting president, member Emma Kronberg told DN this week.

Per-Anders Gustafsson rejected the allegations and said the nominating committee in turn acted insultingly towards him by releasing the letter.

The fight has also acted on the transfer of the Federal Chancellery from Stockholm to Vänersborg.

Another member of the nominating committee, Bo Häggqvist, accused Gustafsson’s supporters of undemocratic methods when, through representatives of inactive bandy associations, they ensured that the Mellan district at its annual meeting endorsed Gustafsson. In the end, some clubs tried to postpone the annual meeting on Saturday.

Instead, the compromise was presented. It remains to be seen whether the annual meeting accepts the deal.
