These are some of the details that can be seen in the drawings of two future cash centers that belong to the central bank of Kazakhstan, the equivalent of the country’s Riksbank. The facilities are spacious, one of more than 150 by 125 meters of buildings and fenced areas.

DN can now reveal that these documents is in the Gunnebo security firm’s data breach, a huge collection of stolen files that have been posted online by criminals and available for anyone to download.
The drawings apply to two cash facilities, one in the capital Nur-Sultan and the other in Aktiubinsk, in the northwest of the country. They show facilities that have everything you need to handle large amounts of money. Garage and truck control room, a reinforced archway, and several smaller rooms, all with location and purpose clearly marked on the drawing. A room for packing and handling bills, another for coins. Two rooms for gold and one for currency. And central, a large arch marked with extra thick walls.
Other rooms refer to security. “Alarm center”, “video control room” and then weapons storage.
The drawing shows where it is intended to manipulate foreign currency.

Gunnebo confirms that the drawings exist in the leaked material, but emphasizes that they do not show any finished plants:
“In other words, the drawing does not describe an existing building, but it is an initial proposal whose main purpose is to show the functions (vaults, money counting, etc.) that we and others involved in the project believe should be included in said installation, “Isabelle writes. One of them has also been refined in several stages, with several revisions since 2019. Among other things, new results have been added.
Central bank cash facilities are considered very sensitive. In Sweden, they are classified as protected objects. When the Riksbank’s cash office in Arlanda was built, the budget was 350 million SEK, in part due to high security requirements. The Riksbank also decided to own the building because it was considered safer than having an outside owner.
DN has been in contact with the central bank of Kazakhstan, which, however, has not answered any questions.
