The school classroom survived undamaged, but Monday must be spent cleaning and tidying up after the fire. Therefore, the school’s 320 students in grades F-6 cannot attend school tomorrow.
The hope is to be able to open as usual on Tuesday, the city of Malmö writes in a press release.
– I am very sad about what happened last night in Gullviksskolan. I am thinking of our students who are affected by this. The school administration and all the school staff will do their best to be able to receive students in the best way possible on Tuesday. Together we will manage this, says Cecilia Strid, director of Gullviksskolan, in the press release.
Police suspect the fire started and have produced a report of arson. There are no suspects yet.
