In late October, Gulan Avci stepped down as the Liberals’ labor policy spokesperson.
Avci, who is in the leadership of the Liberal Party, did not explain his decision, but the party reported the defection in a press release.
Now Swedish Radio Ekot claims that he resigned due to how Liberal Party leader Nyamko Sabuni handled the latest issue. According to the radio, a rift had emerged between Gulan Avci and Nyamko Sabuni on the sensitive issue.
And in mid-October, the last negotiations broke down, after LO voted no on the proposal.
– In general, we can say, unfortunately, that it did not last all the way, Susanna Gideonsson, president of LO at the time, told Ekot.
I have criticism
Sabuni’s line was initially that the Toijer Inquiry, the investigation into a modernized labor law, should be implemented and become law.
After sharing the opinion on Facebook, he received criticism from the party leadership, according to Ekot.
A few days later, she turned around and was ready to put Toijer’s investigation aside.
“I am convinced that the proposal of the parties will be in line with what the liberals think is good,” she told Dagens industri.
