At around 4pm, Aftonbladet received information that a major police operation was taking place in Skultuna, on the outskirts of Västerås.
Shortly before 5.30 pm, the police confirm that an operation is underway.
– That’s right, and that’s really all I can say right now. It is an ongoing effort and you have to work clearly before commenting on the circumstances and why we are there, says Pierre Pelizzoli, an officer at the regional police command center.
Police have asked people walking in the area to take other roads, VLT writes, and there are said to be many patrols at the scene.
– If the police are in place and it has been decided to minimize the entry of people into the area where we work, then they will be asked to walk, says Pierre Pelizzoli.
Is there a danger to the public, should people stay home?
– No, in that case we would have gone out and reported. We are there, we are in control of the situation. So there is no reason for the public to be concerned, Pierre Pelizzoli, an officer with the regional police command center, tells Aftonbladet.
