A major police operation is currently underway in Rinkeby, west of Stockholm.
Several patrols are at the scene and the police have cordoned off several areas.
– A man was injured with a stab weapon, says police spokeswoman Carina Skagerlind.
At 10:08 p.m., the Rinkeby police in western Stockholm were alerted, after an alarm went off about a man with stab wounds.
– I needed to go by ambulance to the hospital, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokeswoman for the Stockholm police.
Where was it found?
– It was in a public setting, I don’t want to go deeper.
The police have no information on the status of the man’s injuries.
Two men arrested
Police searched the area for suspects and arrested two men near where the man was found. The incident is being investigated as an attempted murder.
– We will investigate how these two are involved, says Carina Skagerlind.
The police have a lot of people in the place. They have cordoned off some areas and are talking to witnesses.
– We’re not sure where the crime scene is. Therefore, we have currently cordoned off several areas, including the place where the two suspects were arrested.
Police are not ruling out that more people may be involved and will remain at the scene “for a while longer,” according to Carina Skagerlind.
