At a quarter to nine on Sunday evening, an explosion is said to have occurred near St. Pauli Church, near Redbergsplatsen.

– We are on our way. I don’t know more than that there has been an explosion in the open air. Many people have called, says the alarm and control operator of the rescue service.

About ten alarm calls reached the SOS Alarm, says Ola Nilsson.

– They speak of a strong explosion, someone had seen smoke, around the church and Norra Gubberogatan.

At 9 p.m., the police blew up the danger:

– We have received several calls in which he heard a loud bang and that there must have been an explosion outside the church. When we arrive, we find the remains of a banger that has exploded on the street outside. There should be no material damage and no one has been injured, says Göran Carlbom, an officer on duty for the police in the western region.

One of those who heard the blast is Christina Wising, who lives nearby and took a photo from her apartment.

– It was a big bang and a great cloud of smoke formed that soon split in two. Then it quickly dissipated. But the blast was so strong that many car alarms went off, he says.
