The restrictions linked to the corona pandemic will not be eased in the near future. The message was announced during a digital press conference held by the government on Wednesday afternoon.

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven opened the press conference by stating that a year has passed since he asked the Swedes for patience.

– A year ago, I stopped here before Easter and asked for patience. The message is the same. Wait, wait, the situation is dire.

With the spread of the infection in much of Sweden still high and medical care still under heavy pressure, Löfven urges the population to continue to abide by existing regulations.

The government’s announcement means that municipalities and regions will continue to be encouraged to keep unnecessary activities closed to the public. The Prime Minister also said that there should be no big Easter celebrations.
