As of April 11, environments such as zoos, museums, art galleries and amusement parks will be able to open, if the pandemic situation allows it.

On Thursday, the Swedish Public Health Agency presented its proposals for measures that will be required by the activities to open.

A maximum of 500 people will be allowed to stay at the sites at the same time, according to the proposal, and measures are required to reduce congestion in, for example, queues and walks.

For amusement parks, zoos, theme parks or similar facilities, each visitor must be able to have at least 20 square meters of the available area. This applies to both interior and exterior surfaces.“Writes the Public Health Agency. At the same time, it is proposed that the same area for museums and art galleries be at least ten square meters.

This has caused Liseberg to react.

– We are extremely disappointed with this content, says information manager Julia Vasilis to P4 Gothenburg.

– There is talk of 20 square meters per guest, and this can be compared, for example, with indoor environments such as shopping centers, gyms and stores that have a figure that is half, that is, ten square meters per visitor, and we do not understand in Absolute how the model has reasoned around her, she tells the radio.

“We are equipped”

Liseberg CEO Andreas Andersen has previously said that they intend to open their doors on May 1 and are now hiring.

Several times during the pandemic he has criticized restrictions that did not allow amusement parks to remain open, and has said that they would have the opportunity to maintain infectious activity as early as spring 2020.

– We have been very clear in our communication for a year with the Public Health Agency, that we are equipped to handle it, says Julia Vasilis to P4 Gothenburg.

Action proposed by the Swedish Public Health Agency

For museums, art galleries, each visitor or client must be able to have at least 10 square meters of available space.

Regardless of the space available, the number can be a maximum of 500 people.

For amusement parks, zoos, theme parks or similar facilities, each visitor must be able to have at least 20 square meters of the available area. This applies to both interior and exterior surfaces.

You must ensure that staff receive relevant information on hygiene measures.

Guests and visitors should have the opportunity to wash their hands with soap and water, or be offered hand sanitizer.

Where there are attractions, steps should be taken to reduce queue and attraction congestion.
