Sofra restaurant is located right next to the site in Danska vägen.
– It was a small truck that exploded. We had three clients sitting here and eating. One of my clients saw the car explode, grabbed one of our fire extinguishers and ran out and put out the fire, says restaurateur Ibrahim.
– Customers are talking to the police right now, says Ibrahim at 10:40 PM on Sunday night.
The incident occurred in Lunden, Gothenburg.
Car parts on the street
Witnesses at the site that SVT spoke of say they saw auto parts dumped on the street after the blast.
– We are at the scene and it is a truck that has exploded, what has happened we do not know yet, says Daniel Svensmark, alarm and control operator of the rescue service in Gothenburg, to DN.
The newspaper writes that the police with a megaphone urged residents to stay away from windows and balconies. The fire must have been extinguished by a person who ran off with a fire extinguisher from a nearby restaurant.

– We have received an alarm about a strong blow, some kind of explosion, we are at the site and also the police and the ambulance. – We have heard that it exploded from a truck, but what or that I do not know.
Police suspect a crime
Parts of the site / street have been blocked.
Police are investigating the incident as a general destruction, they write on their website.

According to the witness, a crowd rose at the scene after the blast, but then the police arrived, blocked and drove people away.
– Now it’s completely cordoned off and the bomb shelter is here. The police have told everyone to come in from their balconies and close the windows.
“I heard an explosion”
Victoria Rynner, 28, lives in Danska vägen and was at home in her apartment when she heard the blow.
– I heard an explosion and the whole department shook. Everyone in the house leaned out onto the balconies to see what had happened, he says.
He could not see in detail what had happened, but says that much of the road was blocked.
– I talked to another girl who was throwing garbage when it exploded, she said she felt the whole floor shake.
“The whole apartment shook”
A man tells GT that he was in his room at a nearby hotel when he heard the loud bang.
– It blew up like a shame and now the fire brigade and police are across the road. There are no broken windows or anything like that that I can see, but it exploded like a shame and then the police blinked, the witness says.
