Today, the city of Gothenburg decided that the city library and the municipal museums will be closed. Everything to stop the spread of the infection in the municipality.
– Due to the increasing spread of the infection, we were commissioned to close the municipal museums, but also the City Library and other public activities such as the Grand Theater, the Art Gallery and our houses of culture, says Anna Rosengren, administrative director of the Cultural Administration.
Operations will close as of tomorrow, Saturday, November 14.
– What will remain open are the district libraries, says Anna Rosengren.
Why does it make a difference?
– It is a political decision, but it is about reducing the spread of infection and movements through the city space and since the district libraries are local, people do not move as much to get there, says Anna Rosengren.
It’s unclear when the businesses will reopen
The Cultural Administration also encourages everyone to use the libraries to the extent possible.
Is there a time frame?
– No, there is no decision on when activities can be reopened, says Anna Rosengren, administrative director of the Cultural Administration.
