A man suspected of being involved in a murder has been arrested after several months abroad. Stock Photography.
He has been detained in his absence for several months. But when the man who has a starring role in a criminal network got off the plane at Landvetter airport on Friday, police were waiting.
– That a person who has lived abroad is now also arrested is fantastically good. It feels like a success, says Stefan Gustafsson, a police spokesman.
It was on May 3 when a man in his 30s was shot and killed in the old town in eastern Gothenburg. In addition to this murder, the police preliminary investigation also refers to the suspicions of preparation for the murder of three relatives of the murdered.
A total of 15 people are now in custody, including the man who was detained in their absence.
“The latest arrest means we can bring greater clarity to a murder investigation that has clear links to serious organized crime,” says Tobias Bergkvist, head of the regional police investigation unit at the police site.
