Frölunda clearly beat HV 71 when the SHL season began. It was 3-0 at Scandinavium, and the distinguished junior Lucas Raymond was one of the scorers.

Frölunda has been slow in the last few SHL premieres. No goals during the first two periods, neither 2018 nor last year. But now the Gothenburg team, which is the reigning champion since 2019, got off to a much better start.
Patrik Carlsson splashed 1-0 in powerplay after 7.18. HV had a good few minutes a moment later. But 56 seconds before the break, Linus Nässén rose to 2-0, a good move since Frölunda pulled the puck out of the corner.

HV 71 had to play outnumbered twice at the start of the second period, but couldn’t take advantage of it. Instead, 18-year-old Lucas Raymond rose to 3-0 in the middle of the period, in Frölunda’s second power play for the night.
After that, Jönköping’s team was sometimes played by a Frölunda who constantly established himself in the attacking zone. HV forward Lias Andersson, previously at Frölunda, was unhappy during the second break.

3-0 shooter Lucas Raymond was singled out as one of the greatest talents in Swedish hockey. But he didn’t really shine last season, with ten points (4 + 6) from 33 games.
Rubin kept a clean sheet
Now Raymond got off to a great start in the fall of SHL. The same applies to Niklas Rubin, who kept a clean sheet in Frölunda’s goal despite pressure from HV in the final minutes.
HV 71 may have to think about premieres. This was the third consecutive defeat, although in the visiting field all three. Last year it was 0-4 against Rögle.
The start of this year’s season will be remembered. In normal cases, it is hot and lively in Scandinavium during an SHL match, with up to 12,000 spectators on site. Now it was cold from the ice in the silent and almost empty stands.
