Two men have been arrested on suspicion of stabbing three people to death at Notre Dame Cathedral on Thursday.
The incident has been described as a terrorist by President Macron and now the Interior Minister is warning of more attacks.
– We are at war with an enemy that exists both inside and outside of France, says Darmanin.
A 21-year-old from Tunisia, named Ibrahim Issaoui according to the AP news agency, was arrested at the scene during the dramatic event at Notre Dame Cathedral in Nice on Thursday morning. Issaoui is suspected of stabbing three people to death.
They are two women between the ages of 30 and 70 and the church worker Vincent Loque, a man in his 50s.
On Friday morning, the police announced that another man, 47, had been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the act. How the man was linked to the attack is still unclear, but he is said to have had contact with the 21-year-old suspect the night before the incident.
Ibrahim Issaoui is said to have yelled “Allahu akbar” when he attacked the church visitors. He is said to have been carrying three knives, two telephones and a Koran during the attack, according to TT.
Issaoui was shot in the shoulder by police during the arrest and is being treated at the hospital.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin speaks to the press after the event.
“Will there be more attacks?”
French President Emmanuel Macron called the incident a terrorist attack and on Thursday raised the country’s security level to the highest possible level.
Now Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin warns that more terrorist attacks are expected in France, as the country “is at war with Islamist ideology,” Reuters reports.
– We are at war with an enemy that exists both inside and outside of France. We must understand that there will be more events like these terrible attacks, Darmanin told RTL Radio.
One of the murdered women had her head cut off, according to French Le Monde. Several people were injured. The investigation has been taken over by French antiterrorist prosecutors.
Convicted by French Muslims
After the attack, the military force in France will double and security in schools will be strengthened, according to President Macron.
The French Muslim Council has condemned the act.
Just two hours after the attack in Nice, a man in Avignon, in southeastern France, attacked the police and shouted “Allahu akbar”. The man was shot and killed by the police.
In early October, a teacher was stabbed to death in a Paris suburb after showing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad during class.
