It is not relevant that the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs discourages Swedes from traveling in Europe during Christmas and New Years. That was the message from Foreign Minister Ann Linde in Ekot’s interview on Saturday.
– Everyone must assume great personal responsibility. It is not the journey itself that is the problem. It is if you have new contacts, if you don’t keep your distance, if you don’t wash your hands and so on, Ann Linde said in the live interview on Swedish Radio P1.
At present, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs only advises against travel within the EU to Estonia, Latvia and Ireland. These are valid until December 16, when new recommendations will arrive. But there will be no restrictions on EU travel, according to Ann Linde, who would have liked to see all EU countries have the same advice.
– It is clear that it is much better if we had the same advice. But I still think that you have to overthink if you decide to travel, is this really necessary?
