Midway through the GP season, 34-year-old Fredrik Lindgren leads the World Cup after the Swede reached his fourth consecutive final.
In the Polish Gorzow, he achieved the fifth victory of his career in a GP.
– I’m so happy, he says in the victory interview.
Fredrik Lindgren shows great form. In Gorzow, Poland, he claimed his fifth career GP victory after being good all night.
After five heats, the Swede was second overall with twelve shooting points after, among other things, two wins.
In the semi-finals, he finished second behind Jason Doyle and then in the final he showed class.
The Swede won after a majestic overtake of Australian Jason Doyle. Doyle lost momentum and finished third.
Instead, the Danish Leon Madsen came second. Emil Sayfutdinov finished fourth in the final.
“Good night until the end”
Given that the two Poles Bartosz Zmarzlik and Maciej Janowski, first and second in the World Cup series before today’s competition, had a worse day, the 34-year-old is now moving towards the middle of the series of the World Cup, where there are four competitions left.
Lindgren has in all four competitions that have reached the final in total with two third places and one fourth place as a result. Following the victory at Gorzow, he now leads the World Cup series with seven points ahead of Zmarzlik and nine points ahead of Janowski.
– Tonight was good. I went back to the final and told myself that this time I would win. I’m so happy, Lindgren says in the victory interview.
Fredrik Lindgren’s latest GP victory came just over a year ago at home in Målilla.
The other Swede, Antonio Lindbäck, only got three points and finished in 14th place.
