The new attack is said to have taken place near the old Charlie Hebdo facility.
A suspect was arrested after several people were injured in a knife attack in eastern Paris, the French capital media reported. At least two victims must be seriously injured.
Prime Minister Jean Castex confirms the information about the act and declares the number of injured to four, writes the Reuters news agency.
It is said to have taken place near the former premises of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in the 11th district. The area was cordoned off for a time, as a suspicious package had been pointed to the site, but was later found to be safe.
Police urged the public to avoid the area via Twitter, and the school children were detained.
At one point, there were talk of two perpetrators, but after a man was arrested, police say he has been identified as the only suspect. French media report that he was arrested on the steps of the Bastille Opera, several blocks south of the twelfth district. According to unconfirmed information, he had traces of blood on his clothes.
An attack on Charlie Hebdo in January 2015 claimed twelve lives. A trial for that act has recently been held in Paris.
