Flare mulled wine bottles cost several thousand at Tradera

[ad_1]

In times of pandemic, we buy more online. On the Tradera auction site, trading has generally increased in 2020, but there are areas that have increased more than others.

– Sales of collectible bottles are up 29 percent this year. It is mainly the special editions of Absolut Vodka bottles, Jägermeister bottles and Blossa bottles that require high final prices, says Sofia Hagelin, Tradera’s press officer.

Thus, it is the empty bottles that have become a hot collection area. For Blossa, it is the bottles designed with aged mulled wine that have become valuable, especially the first two vintages, 2003 and 2004.

Sofia Hagelin doesn’t think it’s so strange that the colorful bottles have become popular collectibles.

– There is a thematic idea behind, artistic height in the design and a regularity in the fact that there is a new one every year. I think most people choose them as decorations for Christmas, he says.

The most expensive bottle: SEK 2,001

The most expensive bottle of Blossa that changed ownership at Tradera in the fall was a 2003 bottle of orange that a buyer offered home for SEK 2,001. The most expensive bottle of 2004 sold for 1,500 SEK.

Anki Lejdeby, a Gothenburger and collector’s soul obsessed with colorful Blossa bottles, doesn’t think these are completely unreasonable prices.

– In fact, I can imagine paying for a bottle that I really want, but first I have to finish some other projects. Then I’ll probably start looking for the bottles I don’t have, he says.

The Anki Lejdeby bottles are in the window of the summer cabin, where daylight is refracted through the colored glass bodies. He started with buying the aged mulled wine in 2013 to test the flavor, then fell in love with the bottles and finally placed an ad to find a 2015 one that he got rid of.

– It’s very pretty with its blue print, but my favorite is 2013, it’s bright red with a Dalarna-inspired motif. 2011 is pretty ugly, actually. I got it with the purchase when I bought the 2015 bottle from a woman from Värmland, she says.

Neither Systembolaget nor the manufacturer have stock

Nathalie Malledant, brand strategist for the maker of Blossa Altia, confirms that interest in bottles has grown. One contributing reason is that they have deliberately worked with limited editions of the mulled wine. They finished.

– The first vintages were by Systembolaget. We have gradually increased the volumes, but they will be sold out every year. It should feel like an exclusive product, he says.

People are often heard searching for old bottles, with or without mulled wine.

– It is mainly people who are looking for the earliest vintages. But neither we nor Systembolaget have shares. We have to refer them to the auctions that exist, he says.
