A man from western Sweden has been sentenced to five years in prison for aggravated rape, writes TTELA.
The man previously worked in the home care service in Trollhättan municipality, but was fired last year for mismanaging his work. Among other things, he must have sought out an older woman outside of her usual hours. In May of this year, the man entered the house of the same woman and raped her.
The Vänersborg District Court considers that the man’s knowledge of the woman’s vulnerability, health status and routines and that he committed the act during the night indicates that the act was planned. The rape is considered aggravated, since the man has committed the act with special cruelty and rudeness.
He is sentenced to five years in prison and to pay SEK 140,000 for damages to the woman. The man denies the crime.
