A total of 140 students from two-year groups now receive tuition at home, the decision was made by Helene Odenjung (left), who chairs the board of the elementary school in the city of Gothenburg in consultation with infection control.

– A unanimous decision, it is a security measure to limit and stop the spread of the infection, Yvonne Alhäll, director of Fjällboskolan in Utby, tells GP.

Five students have been found to be sick with covid-19, but the number of children with symptoms is increasing every day, says the director. Children with symptoms are tested, but the exact number is unclear.

The first confirmed case was found on Friday, writes GP.

“More after the weekend”

– There was more after the weekend and after the meetings it was decided that children in both grades will be taught at home the rest of the week. Fortunately, we have a fall license next week, which is good in terms of infection risk. Hopefully, teaching will start again as usual the following week, Yvonne Alhäll tells the newspaper.

Alhäll also says that exceptions have been made for some children where home schooling has not been possible, but is carried out in a crown-safe way, she says.

School personnel working with confirmed sick children have been screened, but none of them should be sick with COVID-19.

One parent GP spoke to is critical of driving and wonders how children should be able to take responsibility for their own teaching and whether parents should be able to be home with their children in such a short time.
