A burning object was thrown at Sigtuna town hall overnight and started a minor fire outside the house. Stock Photography.
During the night, a Molotov cocktail-shaped incendiary bomb was thrown at Sigtuna’s city hall. The police take the incident seriously and have had a greater force out there.
– It is cordoned off and we have police in place so nothing else happens. We will do a technical investigation in the morning, says Tomas Ibstedt, an officer on duty at the Stockholm Police.
Police are investigating the attack as an arson attempt.
The burning object did not pass through the glass window of the city hall and therefore a large fire could be prevented. Instead, it began to burn outside the house and the fire was quickly extinguished.
TT: Do you have any theories about the motives and who or what is behind the attack?
– Yes, we have, but I don’t want to go into that, says Tomas Ibstedt.
