Corona virus in the world
One in three people worldwide believes that their country should take priority when distributing the corona vaccine. Show a new poll, writes The Economist.
Researchers from the UN and the German think tank ISDC have asked 11,600 people in 137 countries various questions related to the crown. One of them was how a vaccine should be distributed. One in three respondents prefer that their country be prioritized. In Brazil, Finland and Portugal, the figure was over 40 percent. Americans are even more nationalistic, with 46 percent of those surveyed wanting the former, and only 41 percent wanting the vaccine to be available globally.
US President Donald Trump also named a WHO-backed alliance to develop and distribute a Covid-19 vaccine.
Germans seem very disinterested in this matter: 69 percent of them believe that vaccines should be distributed equally.
