The Russian-language news site Haqqin has published an article stating that Sweden renounces the fight against the new corona virus and that Swedes have the opinion that the virus does not threaten people, reports SVT News.

The article is illustrated with summer images from last year and contains alleged quotes from triathlete Joanna Soltysiak, where she encourages other athletes to come to Sweden, as all sporting events take place as usual. In the article, she also talks about an infected doctor who is allowed to continue working in the hospital.

But Joanna Soltysiak has not participated in any interviews, writes in an email to SVT: “I was very surprised and unaware of any articles. I have definitely not been in contact with any media. It is all surreal.”

According to the Crowdtangle analysis tool, the article has approximately 280,000 Facebook interactions, and is therefore one of the most shared about Sweden in the Russian media.
