A woman in her 80s was seriously injured and a woman in her 40s was slightly injured when the blast took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, local media reported. According to SVT, they were injured patients. Police say there was a heavy blow that broke several windows on the property in central Gothenburg.

The cause of the explosion was not entirely clear in the afternoon. But the police have launched a preliminary investigation into public destruction, attempted murder and violation of the explosives law. However, after an investigation by police bomb technicians, it was found that no explosives remained inside the premises.

According to information from Göteborgs-Tidningen (GT), the clinic has previously had police surveillance because there was a threat against a person related to the clinic. Police were also alerted to the scene three weeks ago regarding an explosion, but police do not want to say if there is any connection.
