The police have been able to establish that something has detonated near a villa in Bromsten.
An area around the building has been cordoned off and police are on site to gather information.
The incident is classified as general destruction.
– 22.16 we received the first call, it was a loud detonation that the callers had heard, says Anna Westberg, spokeswoman for the Stockholm Police
– Next, we have been able to affirm that something has detonated in relation to a single-family house, some form of villa. We have cordoned off around the property and are now working to conduct interrogations.
National bomb squad on the way to the scene
National bomb squads have been called in and police technicians are also heading to the scene.
– Technicians from the police and the national bomb squad are on their way there. Currently, there is no information that anyone has been injured, Westberg says.
– No one has been arrested for this incident at this time, he continues.
It is currently unclear what caused the explosion.
