At the same house in Hofors, a wanted man was arrested Saturday night and police fired warning shots.
On Sunday a major operation was carried out at the detainee’s home. This after the police received information about a suspected dangerous object in the home in the morning.
But when the National Bomb Squad examined the apartment in the afternoon, no dangerous objects were found. Therefore, the great barriers around the home are now being raised.
The police must remain and work at the scene, but there must be no danger to the public. Thus, residents of some 30 homes in the surrounding area that have been evacuated have been able to return home, the police write on their website.
It is unclear exactly what the police were looking for and why. According to Magnus Jansson Klarin, a police press spokesman, this was a general assessment based on the events of Saturday night and the questioning of the detained man.
– But I can’t go into exactly what was said in questioning, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
Warning shots
The owner of the house was arrested on Saturday night and, in connection with the arrest, the police fired a warning shot.
The arrested man was searched and arrested in his absence after threatening the Execution Officer staff. At 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night, a police patrol would enter the man’s home to arrest him.
– Then he meets the patrol with weapons and threatens to shoot, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesman for the police in the Central region.
In connection with this, the police fire their warning shot and disarm the man.
The incident has led to a report of threats against an official and a technical investigation is being carried out at the home during the day.
– To see if there can be more weapons, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
Backed into the car
The earlier threat against the executing officer’s staff, which took place on October 21, is classified as a threat against an official, but also as an arrest against an official.
– There were two officials who were on the scene at the address of Hofors to carry out a foreclosure of a car. Then the owner of the car (the man now arrested, editor’s note) reacts by turning aggressive. He takes another of his cars and goes back to the Execution Officer car, and also threatens an officer with shelter before he leaves the scene.
