Fredrick Federley has sat in the European Parliament for the Center Party for several years and has been one of the biggest names in the party. Now he is taking a break from politics.
“I have collapsed and I need to recover,” is written on Facebook.
Federley further writes that the reason for his resignation is that a person who was previously close to him has been convicted of extremely serious crimes.
“It is written in some places now that a person who was previously close to me has been convicted of extremely serious crimes. Unfortunately, that is true. The crimes he has committed are frankly horrible, unspeakable and completely unforgivable. We have now gone our separate ways.” writes the former center politician on Facebook
“I have felt very bad for a long time, which has increased recently. I feel like I can’t focus on my political mission right now. I have fallen to pieces and I need to recover, heal and regain strength ”.
“Therefore, I have received support from care and I have met a psychologist who has told me that I am not in a position to work, that I have simply crashed into a wall. My focus now will be to recover, to disconnect from politics and to be able to return complete and with new strength later on ”.
Federley is currently featured on SVT’s “Brussels Calling,” which follows four Swedish EU MPs behind the scenes in the corridors of power.
