She wears thick clothes and her new black wig, the one her grandmother had just bought and which she found very elegant.

The photo was on his mobile phone which was later found in Vramsån in Tollarp, ​​on the outskirts of Kristianstad.

Detained for ten months

A hundred meters away, Emilia Lundberg was found dead in the icy waters of Vramsån by police divers on December 3, eleven days after her disappearance.

She was stabbed multiple times, but lived when she ended up in the water, where she bled to death.

For more than ten months, the 23-year-old has been in custody on suspicion of murdering his childhood friend.

But question after question, month after month, he’s turned blue.

He says he doesn’t remember.

On Thursday he was charged, on suspicion of having stabbed her to death in the middle of November 22, 2019, sometime in the hours after Emilia’s last selfie.

Be there at night

The only 23-year-old who has been previously convicted of various drug-related crimes, admitted in questioning that he was at Emilia’s home that night, but claims that Emilia Lundberg and another friend drove him home early in the morning.

Before dawn, she must have been out for a walk, in the exact area where Emilia will be found murdered later.

According to the chamber’s prosecutor, Kristina Amilon, the 23-year-old has gone home, along with Emilia and her friend, to later return to Emilia and stay there.

In the morning, around 11.20, at approximately the same time the selfie is taken, several people see Emilia Lundberg and a man leave their house and cross the E22; they notice the couple, both because they are barefoot and because it is unusual. place to cross the busy road.

The pair pass over the two road rails and the middle railing and head out into the narrow terrain towards the winding Vramsån.

The last time the phone was used

According to the Health application on Emilia’s mobile phone, she walks 986 steps, in three different stages, until 02.12.2020.

Somewhere Emilia’s mobile phone is being actively used for the last time, at 12.15 pm. A quarter of an hour later, you are no longer connected to the mobile network.

At 12:39, Emilia’s mother is at home in her apartment to check if she is home; at the same time, he sends a text message and wonders where he is.

She gets no response.

Ten minutes later, he sends a new text message: “Please get in touch!”

She doesn’t get an answer now either.

Three-quarters of an hour later, when he has picked up Emilia’s little brother from school, he heads from the cemetery, where he has visited a grave, to a fast food restaurant to buy lunch.

Then he sees a drug addict man swinging, in the middle of busy E22.

Falling into the ditch

She thinks she sees that he is Emilia’s childhood friend, the 23-year-old man, he turns around and comes back.

By then, several other people had already observed the man, both people in a roadside factory and motorists.

Several of them also called the police and alerted the man.

At 1.35pm, the first call, about a “drunk” on the E22 in Tollarp, ​​arrives at roughly the same spot where the couple were seen crossing the street two hours earlier.

– Anyway, it looked like he had been run over a couple of times, says the caller.

The man falls into the ditch, but crawls back down the road, says the next caller.

Meanwhile, Emilia’s mother turns and returns. She stops the car and the 23-year-old man, who sees who it is, runs towards her.

He asks her if he can take him home, and she does.

Fell into the water

It’s wet; He will later explain to the police that he fell in the Vramsån during his walk, affected and with waffles.

Emilia’s mother asks if she has seen Emilia.

– Not for long, he replies, but then he says that he met her in the afternoon or at night.

What Emilia Lundberg’s mother doesn’t know is that her daughter is probably dead in Vramsån, right next door.

She takes the 23-year-old home and calls his mother, who in turn calls an ambulance and rushes home from work.

When the ambulance arrives, they examine the 23-year-old.

He’s cold and affected, but it’s no worse than being allowed to stay in bed at home.

The next day, Emilia Lundberg’s parents call the police and report her missing.

They called and searched, but couldn’t find her.

The bag lies

Just a week later, on November 30, volunteers searching for Emilia find her Louis Vuitton bag in Vramsån.

Along with her bag is a Nike gym bag that belongs to the 23-year-old.

A little closer to E22 is his red shirt, with a kitchen knife from Emilia’s house in his pocket.

At her home, the police will later find her new wig, wet and with plant parts tangled in her hair.

The day after the police diver finds Emilia dead, they arrest the 23-year-old.
