Fredriksson: Eskilstuna has had a somewhat copious performance
Published:
Drama, astonishing disappointment, and relieved shouts of joy.
The decisive round had it all.
An unfortunate goal difference fell to Umeå in the end, the snooper for such a strong newcomer.
It was an irritating sensation during the final round of this year’s damallsvenskan, where up to three matches were involved in the wildly exciting bottom-line battle, and where FC Rosengård and Skånelillasyster Kristianstad battled for second place.
Umeå really had the knife to the throat in the relegation zone and needed the help of Örebro or Uppsala at the same time that he needed to win for the first time in nine games.
When Eva Nyström scored 1-0 on a free kick after just five minutes, she brought half a series to life.
Unfortunately for the newcomer, they received no help from Örebro or Uppsala, who lost to the final competitors Piteå and Djurgården.
Heavy seasons, for various reasons
Umeå, meanwhile, had exactly all the margins with them in the match against Eskilstuna, who had two rib shots and a ball that danced over the goal line during an intense period in the first half.
It is difficult to talk about what is fair and not when teams are left out of a series.
Djurgården has remained stable, but lacked clarity and above all a scorer.
Piteå has missed his audience (perhaps more than anything) and lived in a suitcase during the busiest part of the game schedule.
Umeå? They outperformed slightly over the summer before diving deep into a fall where tough games took turns and confidence faded. They had a clear idea, and they dared, but as newcomers, it was still not enough for the entire season.
So was this fair?
Mjo. That was it, although there are probably more people in Umeå who think he feels stiff.
Eskilstuna has a lot to think about
Now it was not Piteå or Djurgården that we found just above the line at the end, but Eskilstuna (!).
The team has underperformed in something so abundant this year, and it’s amazing when two of the forwards are at the top of the shooting league, with eleven hits apiece. Now, it was also the higher goal difference that saved the best team in the end and Eskilstuna is the team in the entire series that must examine itself the most this year.
“In the team we have fun together, but when we go out on the field, it becomes something else. I understand that people think that we do not show any joy when playing“This year, goalkeeper Emelie Lundberg told Eskilstunakuriren this week.
Somewhere there they can start digging.
Everything almost as always – after all
At the top, FC Rosengård gave a final blow to a Växjö who is having the best season ever. It’s also worth noting that basically everyone but themselves has calculated them over and over again throughout the season.
By the way, Rosengård avoided third place with difficulty despite the defeat when Kristianstad lost his lead and lost to Linköping.
It was not a phrase that I thought I would write before the season.
We can say that it was such a season, in which sometimes the climb felt bad, but finally we were able to see the gold favorites as one and two and the newcomers as eleven and twelve.
Almost as usual then.
