Employees at the University of Gothenburg have lost their email addresses after multiple email servers crashed.
For more than a week, the University of Gothenburg has had problems with the email addresses of its employees. The issue arose after multiple email servers went down, which meant that all employees’ email addresses stopped working.
“It is very unfortunate that it is not possible to reach all the email addresses of the University of Gothenburg. We are working hard so that everything works again as soon as possible. I look forward to understanding from students, employees, the general public and external partners, “says Principal Eva Wiberg in a press release.
The university’s IT unit is working to fix the problem and has now managed to recover more than half of the email addresses.
Emails that were sent to the affected email addresses during the unavailable time will likely not arrive.
The university encourages those who need to contact the university to call instead.
