Many lost their chins when Sweden, on the second day, faced the Czech Republic in the premiere of JVM.
The match ended 7-1 and of all Sweden’s goals, it was primarily Elmer Söderblom’s dream goal that caught the attention of the hockey world.
Frölunda’s high talent was parked in front of goal when he received the puck, and then between his legs he divided it into goal.
– This is great. It has a playhouse, exclaimed SVT commentator Chris Härenstam.

Söderblom with a repeat of the dream goal
In the quarterfinals against Finland, Söderblom was on the move again.
Sweden led the match 1-0, after Lucas Raymond offered a world-class final, when it was time for Juniorkronorna to play hard.
At 202 cm, Elmer Söderblom parked in front of the goal again and when he receives the Lucas Raymond puck, well, he does it again.
He pulls the puck between his legs and splits it on the net roof.
– It’s a rerun of Söderblom, just like against the Czech Republic! He continues to impress with his daring and creative play, exclaims Viasat commentator Niklas Holmgren.

Rickard Wallin impressed
Expert commentator Rickard Wallin was at least as impressed.
– I don’t know what to say, it seems that everything has been said about this objective. Doing it once is one thing, everyone here should know it’s coming. But it goes so fast and has such a long range here, it moves the puck and it stops right in the face and obscures the Piiroinen.
He continues:
– If the former was pleasant, then this was presented even more clinically.
In the break interview, Söderblom revealed that it was no coincidence that the goal was scored again.
“We scouted a bit earlier, so we knew that the Finns would defend high up, so I got space,” Elmer Söderblom tells Viasat.
