From 1964 to 1971, Assar Lindbeck was a professor at the Business School. In 1971 he became a professor at the Institute for International Economics at Stockholm University.
During the years 1971-1994, Lindbeck was a member of the Committee of the Swedish Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel. Since 1981 he was also its president.
