Tigers, lions and now snow leopards. Another large feline has been shown to be infected with the coronavirus.

Three snow leopards tested positive for COVID-19 at the Louisville Zoo in the US state of Kentucky, CNN reports.
All three snow leopards, two males and one female, have mild symptoms with wheezing and a dry cough. They are believed to have been infected by an asymptomatic veterinarian and are expected to be fully recovered, according to a statement from zoo director John Walczak.

It is the sixth animal species confirmed to have been infected by the virus after close contact with humans. In the past, several tigers and lions have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Bronx Zoo in New York.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), dogs and cats have also been infected with the virus in the United States. So far, Covid-19 rarely appears to be fatal in animals, except for minks, which in various parts of the world have been hit hard by the pandemic.
