With the help of hidden cameras, the police have blown up a large drug shelter in southern Stockholm.

The leader recruited teenagers as messengers and is now also being prosecuted for human trafficking.

– The sale of drugs is a very dangerous business, it has put these guys in an emergency situation, says the prosecutor Lars Ågren.

On November 6 last year, the police launched a unique operation in the south of Stockholm. Long reconnaissance and intelligence work had led directly to a drug center in an apartment building in Vårberg. Several surveillance cameras were installed there and for two and a half months the police were able to follow drug trafficking in real time.

When they finally arrested eleven people in February, the police were sitting on a very large body of evidence. The suspects are now being prosecuted for extensive trafficking in, among other things, cannabis, cocaine, MDMA and Tramadol.

In the preliminary investigation, the league has been named an Organization, and prosecutor Lars Ågren believes that it has long been responsible for a major drug trade in Stockholm.

– The indictment refers to the period between September 6 and February 17, but long before that it was a well-established group. They had a large customer base and were sending massive text messages with information about what was for sale.

According to the indictment, the organization handled 7.1 kilos of cannabis, 132 grams of cocaine, and 226 MDMA tablets without suspecting that the police followed every step they took and managed to map 114 drug deals.

– Secret coercive measures are something we work with against organized crime and in this case it has been very successful, says courtroom prosecutor Lars Ågren.

A prominent figure in the Organization is also being prosecuted for human trafficking. According to the prosecutor, she has hired two boys under the age of 18 as messengers. Even if the adolescents have not been threatened or forced to sell drugs, the prosecutor believes that the criminal classification is fully applicable.

– The purpose has been to exploit these two children for the drug market. It is a very dangerous business and that is why they have been put in an emergency situation, says Lars Ågren.

According to the law of crimes against freedom and peace, it is not required that violence, threats or coercion have been used if the plaintiff is under 18 years of age for the perpetrator to be convicted of human exploitation.
