Västtrafik announced at 9:30 p.m. that all bus traffic with line 75 will stop at Angered-Lövgärdet-Angered, until 4:00 a.m. tomorrow.
From the beginning, traffic stopped earlier Sunday evening for bus 75 from Persiljegatan-Fänkålsgatan. Later, all bus traffic with Angered-Lövgärdet-Angered line 75 was stopped.
– There are riots in the area, with people firing rockets. It’s not safe for drivers, says riot coordinator Ellinor Mildh, in Västtrafik.
Earlier in the evening, one person got into a fight on bus 75 and then abandoned the vehicle, causing Västtrafik to stop traffic on the route.
– It is about a bus driver who has been beaten, and an alleged assault has been reported. There is a suspect, a man in his 20s, but no one has been arrested yet, says Sebastian Börjesson, a duty officer in the western police region.
It has been a disorderly night in the Lövgärdes area according to police, with young people firing firecrackers and rockets.
– There is a police operation at the moment. And it is for security reasons that we made the decision. Regardless of what happens at night, bus traffic won’t start running until tomorrow morning, says Camilla Kaneflo, disruption coordinator at Västtrafik.
