It was July 2. It was summer when IFK Gothenburg defeated AIK in Gamla Ullevi 1-0 thanks to a debatable goal in extra time.
Blåvitt took a shot from ninth to fourth in the table and was off to a good start at the Allsvenskan in terms of points.
Every now and then no one could guess that 73 days would pass, autumn and a new coach had time to arrive before “Blåvitt” took the next three points.
– Of course, this means a lot. Today we make a solid effort and play straighter than before. And it was important that we keep zero. Before, we have conceded two goals in almost every game, Tobias Sana tells Dplay.
New coach Roland Nilsson He started by shifting five spots in the starting eleven compared to the race against Hammarby.
André Calisir and August Erlingmark formed a new central defense. And in the future, Pontus Wernbloom, Alexander Farnerud and Giorgi Charaisjvili could start this time.
A short version of what Roland Nilsson has said he urgently wants to change: “We must be more compact and work as a team rather than one by one.”
Much of it was seen directly onto the rain-soaked grass in Falkenberg. A simpler, straight and solid blue and white. It was less a cheeky grin and simple ball drops in her own half of the field, none of it really. It was more of Wernbloom football.
Gothenburg also came to stalls, often through gardeners. From the left, new Yahya Kalley sent the ball leading to 1-0 in the 23rd minute. Wernbloom fought in the middle against new Frenchman Gregoire Amiot of Falkenberg. The ball ended up in the hands of Alexander Farnerud, who pushed it without problems with the left.
The 2-0 came after a post from right-back Alexander Jallow. The end was a surprise. Falkenberg’s Anton Wede was not threatened when he threw the ball over the roof of his own goal net.
IFK Gothenburg received a good dividend in relation to what the team created in the future. The team also received a penalty just before the break when Amiot grabbed his hand just outside the penalty area. Justice was served when Tobias Sana misplaced the penalty for Viktor Noring to save. It was Blåvitt’s fourth penalty missed in eight attempts at this year’s Allsvenskan.
A quarter of an hour before in the end, Sana had another chance from the penalty spot. Now he changed corners and put him hard on the post.
Table runner Falkenberg had more ball in the second half and made his way to some decent scoring chances. But IFK Gothenburg fought as a team and ultimately took the victory that the team longed for.
