Donald Trump voters urged to protest: “I need you”

A company close to Republicans and run by Trump’s campaign manager for digital issues sends anonymous messages to residents of Philadelphia.

In anonymous text messages, people are urged to gather outside the building where the vote is being counted. A vote count that can be decisive for the entire presidential election.

“Show your support”

“WARNING: Radical Liberals and Democrats are trying to steal Trump’s election. We need you! Show your support at the corner of 12th Street and Arch Street in Philadelphia”read the message, according to the Washington Post.

In the right direction, Trump supporters are protesting that they want to stop the vote count, and Biden’s camp counter-protesters who want it to continue. The venue is right next to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, where votes are counted.

The text message was sent hours before Joe Biden took the lead in the Pennsylvania vote.

At least 13 phone numbers

The messages were sent from at least 13 phone numbers used by Opn Sesame, a company that has been offering text messaging services to Republican candidates for several years. It is run by Gary Coby, Donald Trump’s campaign staff chief of digital affairs, writes the Washington Post.

The text does not mention Opn Sesame, President Trump or any other sender. Nor is it indicated how to avoid receiving such messages, and for that reason, the communications company Twilio, which owns the numbers, has closed all 13 numbers.

Twilio announces that he will not reopen the numbers for that. “Sensitive choice situation”, skriver Washington Post.
