The four-year-old rape of a 14-year-old girl in Husie in Malmö may be on the way to a solution thanks to European cooperation. A DNA test on a 39-year-old Swedish citizen who was arrested in Germany for sex crimes also resulted in the Malmö rape, something Sydsvenskan was the first to write about.
– My assessment is that the prospects for the man to be prosecuted in Sweden for the Husie rape are good, court prosecutor Kajsa Cavallin tells SVT Skåne.
The rape took place on the Husiegården sports ground in the middle of the day in July 2016. The alleged perpetrator arrived on a bicycle, stopped in front of the girl and then dragged her into a bush and raped her. About 400 men were allowed to send DNA samples overhead, but there was no success.
– It’s great when that result is toned down. May now, like this for a long time afterwards, have the opportunity to get down to business, says Kajsa Cavallin to SVT.
