Juniors Alexander Holtz and William Eklund pushed Djurgården to victory against unbeaten Luleå.

Draft-seven Holtz started the shooter and says this about his future in New Jersey:

– It would be a lot of fun if they already wanted me for next season, says Holtz.

It was long uncertain whether Djurgården would smash Luleå’s victory suite in Hovet on Thursday night.

But after a 2-2 draw after the third period, the match went into extra time. Where 17-year-old William Eklund decided with a goal and gave Djurgården a 3-2 victory that at the same time broke Luleå’s series of four 3-pointers in a row.

Subsequently, Eklund was praised for his solo performance, which was behind the winning goal.

– It was nice. He picked up and circled two old men and put him between the porter’s legs, mockingly. Glad he could score there … he was wrong at first when I passed it on the power game. No, but really nice goal, fantastic effort.

Which goal looked better then, yours or Williams’s?

– Hans! He makes two old men and puts them between his legs.

But the Dif scorer was started by the New Jersey Devils, recently recruited by 18-year-old Alexander Holtz.

The hockey world is upside down. The draft was this week and the next NHL season is expected to start in January or even February. My SHL season.

A precarious situation for players who have been highly selected and whom NHL clubs want to see more closely next season.

Can’t go after August 15

– I don’t know much about the future, we are going to talk about that in the next few days. Today it was difficult to speak because of the time difference and because we have a match. I hope I know more in the next week what it will be like, says the farm forward.

Holtz himself says that he “remains reasonably in Djurgården”,

– That’s what I propose now. Right now I am the Djurgården player and I will focus 100 percent on it.

What do you say if New Jersey wants you to cross in January?

– Of course it would be a lot of fun, but I’m not the one who decides. They own the rights and if they miss me, New Jersey belongs to me.

According to the rules of the agreement between Swedish hockey and the NHL, no contract player can leave the SHL to play in the NHL after August 15.
