In France, 7,379 new cases of coronary heart disease were reported on Friday, the highest number in a day since restrictions were relaxed and only marginally below the highest daily figure of 7,578, which was recorded on March 31.

In the country’s cities, there is now an “exponential increase in the spread of the virus,” according to the Ministry of Health. A total of 267,077 cases of infection have been found in the country and the number of deaths increased on Friday by 20, to 30,596.

However, the situation in hospitals is relatively stable, as the infection spreads to a greater extent among young people and they are less likely to have severe symptoms. The number of patients in hospitals with covid-19 is 4,535 and the number of patients in intensive care has increased by 6, to 387.

President Emmanuel Macron says his authorities are working hard.

– We do everything possible to avoid a new closure, and especially a closure at the national level. We have learned enough to know that nothing can be ruled out, he says.
