He has been named Swede of the Year for his work with integration and is currently at SVT’s På spåret.

But for several years, the acclaimed polemicist under a pseudonym has mocked Jews and gays online, reveals Dagens Nyheter.

– It was a period in which I was a candidate in my political positions, says the director Hamid Zafar to DN.

According to a revelation in Dagens Nyheter, Rector Hamid Zafar has mocked Jews and homosexuals on the Internet under a pseudonym.

“He has used his own experience to understand and try to solve the problems that have arisen as a result of large migratory flows, lack of integration and wide-ranging segregation.” That was part of the motivation when Hamid Zafar, rector of Biskopsgården in Gothenburg, won the Swedish title of the year in 2018. A year later, Zafar spoke at P1 in the summer and took a seat as an independent expert on the integration commission of moderate.

Now DN reveals that Hamid Zafar under a pseudonym spoke disdainfully about Jews and LGBTQ people for several years online.

On one of Zafar’s Twitter accounts, words like “Zionist donkey” and “Zionist dog” appear. In a discussion with former Member of Parliament Kent Ekeroth (SD) about whether the event in Utöya was carried out by a right-wing extremist blogger, Zafar writes to Ekeroth: Were you a fan of the killer’s blog? ”.

Under various pseudonyms, Zafar has also run his own blog with anti-Jewish and anti-gay posts. He has also been a frequent user of far-right sites where he has repeatedly written overtly anti-Semitic posts.

Under a pseudonym, among other things, he has condemned the “LGBTQ swamp” and the “sodomy” that he believes now permeates the Church of Sweden today. He himself has been a professor of religious studies before.

“Be an applicant”

When Hamid Zafar comments on the posts, which were written during the 2011-2015 period when Zafar was a director, he defends himself saying he was young, wanted and frustrated. He was then between 28 and 33 years old.

– It was partly a period in which I was a candidate in my political positions in different political opinions. But he also tried to find explanations for why the world is seen and constructed as political. In retrospect, I am aware that it was a very destructive period. Not just destructive, but a pretty flat and simplified picture of reality. They are opinions that I have distanced and left behind since then, Zafar tells DN.

It also says that more people than you think have these types of opinions but do not express them. He also says that statistically speaking, there should be directors and teachers in the country who are Nazis.

– He who is free from sin is welcome to cast the first stone, says Zafar to DN.

Since Hamid Zafar became director of Sjumilaskolan in 2015, the blog has been closed. The last post from the Twitter account was written in May 2019.

Director Hamid Zafar is currently participating in the Spåret television show on December 4. SVT’s press office claims they have not yet been contacted about DN’s information during the morning.
