At 05 o’clock, several people alerted the police to a loud blast in eastern Landskrona.
– It is a residential area in the eastern part of Landskrona. There are a lot of houses in apartment buildings on both sides of the street where the blast was heard, says Katarina Rusin, a spokeswoman for the southern police region.
Several patrols were sent to the area and at the scene they could see that an object had detonated outside an apartment building.
– It’s a detonation a little outside the building entrance. Considering the distance and that there was damage to the building, I would judge that the detonation was strong, says Katarina Rusin.
No person has injured. The police also do not consider that the evacuation of the building is necessary.
What has detonated is still unclear. Due to the secrecy of the investigation, Katarina Rusin does not want to go into the motives for the act.
The site is cordoned off and the national bomb squad and technicians have been called in to further investigate the incident.
No one has been arrested or suspected of the detonation. The police question witnesses at the scene and search for one or more perpetrators.
– We believe that there may be more witnesses than those we spoke to, so we urge everyone who has seen something to contact us, says Katarina Rusin.
The incident is classified as general destruction.
