Derailed freight trains: disruptions to commuter train traffic

[ad_1]

At 02:30 a.m., a freight train derailed at the Häggvik commuter train station. The incident brought about a total stop in the morning traffic and the trains had to turn first at Upplands Väsby and Solna.

At 07 am, part of the traffic has resumed, but the trains have to take a different route and therefore do not stop at all stations, according to the SL press service.

Commuter train lines 40 and 41, heading towards Uppsala and Märsta, do not stop at Sollentuna, Häggvik, Norrviken, Rotebro or Arlanda C.

Trains to Södertälje stop at all stations except Häggvik and Arlanda C.

Currently exists there is no forecast when traffic can fully resume. The risk of congestion in morning traffic makes SL encourage travelers to choose other routes or, if possible, to stay home.

– In the event of traffic incidents, there is always the risk of congestion. That’s why we urge travelers not to go out if they don’t have to, says Helena Jakobsson, SL press spokesperson.

How many travelers are affected by the derailment?

– I do not have an exact figure, but it is about thousands of travelers who are affected, says Helena Jakobsson.
