After lengthy negotiations between the Danish parties at the Folketing, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was able to report Monday night on a plan to reopen the country.
– With few exceptions, Danish society will open when all people over 50 are vaccinated. After Easter, all the children and young people will go back to schools and then the service professions can reopen, he says.
Service professions include, for example, hairdressers and tattoo artists. Thus, the Danes will be able to get their hair cut again soon, but only if they can later sport a so-called crown pass.
The Corona passport must be able to be displayed by all Danes on their mobile phone and shows whether they have been vaccinated, infected or tested negative within the last 72 hours. At the end of March, a simple model will be released, at the end of May, a more advanced and user-friendly application will be released.
“Be careful”
But not everything will open right away. The mall won’t open until April 21. Then restaurants and cafes can also open their outdoor cafes. Another two weeks later, guests are served inside.
Here, too, it is required that you can show with your corona passport that you have been vaccinated or that you have recently tested negative.
– We will proceed with caution, says Mette Frederiksen and continues:
– We can open up more in Denmark now and it is the opposite of what you experience in several other countries where a third crown wave is a reality.
After the meeting with the press, he posted a photo on Instagram where he celebrated the reopening plan with a beer.
“Soon the trip home will be after a long day,” he wrote, taking the opportunity to thank the parties with whom he signed the agreement.
