In Denmark, restrictions are now being introduced to stop the coronavirus. Schools, hair salons, and preschools have reopened, while increasing testing capacity for each week.
Part of the infection tracking also refers to people who have tested positive to contact people with whom they have been in contact, so they in turn should also go and test themselves.
– We need to keep infection low now and we will do so with the help of more testing and more infection tracking, says Allan Randrup Thomsen, professor of virology at the SVT Agenda.
Tested much more than Sweden
In Sweden, people who are cared for in hospitals and nursing homes are tested mainly, but also more and more employees in care and caring. However, Denmark is one step ahead.
Last week, April 20-26, Denmark evaluated about 68,000 people, while 24,000 people were evaluated in Sweden.
This despite the fact that the Public Health Authority hoped to evaluate up to 100,000 a week in just a few weeks as early as April.
That was not the case and now the hope is that 100,000 Swedes can be tested in mid-May.
In Denmark, the goal is to be able to run 300,000 tests a week and for everyone who wants to be able to test themselves.
